IRVINE, CALIFORNIA, August 18, 2016 - Inc. Magazine today ranked Cylance® No. 26 on its 35th annual Inc. 5000 list, the most prestigious ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies. Cylance experienced more than 7,000% growth over the past three years due to rapid adoption by more enterprises and channel partners of CylancePROTECT® as their de facto endpoint security product.

Cylance's artificial intelligence (AI) based approach to endpoint security helps prevent advanced threats and malware from executing on corporate endpoints, eliminating the need for less effective signature-based anti virus and anti-malware solutions. Cylance's unmatched performance in real-world deployments against unknown threats has driven the company to its position as one of the fastest-growing security companies in the history of the security industry.

"We are honored to be included in the Inc. 5000 list, which focuses on our tremendous growth, but is also a reflection of the efficacy of our approach and vast adoption of Cylance across a number enterprises globally," said Stuart McClure, president and CEO at Cylance. "It is a huge testament to the entire Cylance team that we have been named the fastest-growing security company in the U.S. Thanks to the continued hard work of our growing team, the success of our channel partners and the hard-driving innovation behind our products, I believe we have only scratched the surface of the impact Cylance will have on the security industry and on the world."

While the Inc. 5000 list reflects Cylance's growth through the end of 2015, the company has experienced a number of accolades and achieved a number of milestones in the past three months alone. These include:

  • In early June, the company was named the winner in the Emerging Technology Category at the SC Magazine Europe Awards.
  • Also in June, the company was named to the CNBC Disruptor 50, a prestigious list of the most disruptive private companies from all industries.
  • Shortly thereafter, the company announced $100 million in Series D financing, led by Blackstone Tactical Opportunities and Insight Venture Partners, with participation by Citi Ventures.
  • Ernst & Young selected Stuart McClure as Entrepreneur of the Year in Orange County across a competitive field of technology executives.
  • In July, the company was named to the CRN Emerging Vendors list as one of the most innovative companies driving success through the channel.

Through the application of algorithmic science and machine learning, the company's flagship product, CylancePROTECT is uniquely able to identify and prevent zero-days and other forms of advanced and targeted attacks currently impacting businesses and government agencies worldwide, thereby eliminating the need for individual security teams to analyze and develop expertise in defending against each new cyberattack. CylancePROTECT is actively protecting countless potential attack victims with an independent conviction engine that operates on network endpoints, including those connected to air-gapped networks.
