IRVINE, CALIFORNIA, May 11, 2016 - Cylance®, the American company that is revolutionizing cybersecurity through the use of artificial intelligence to proactively prevent advanced persistent threats and malware, announced that it has signed an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement with MOTEX to integrate MOTEX LanScope, a leading endpoint systems management solution, and CylancePROTECT®, Cylance’s innovative artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning based endpoint malware prevention product.
Cylance has produced the world’s most advanced malware detection and attack prevention technology, which is protecting hundreds of global organizations and millions of computers today. Draper Nexus Ventures, a leading US-Japan cross border investment firm, is helping Cylance accelerate its entry into the Japanese market. “It's a global phenomenon that traditional security cannot protect endpoints from advanced threats. The Japanese market is not an exception and we have identified a great opportunity there,” said Hiro Rio Maeda, managing director for Draper Nexus. “Our extensive network creates the foundation for portfolio companies to expand into Japan."
MOTEX will integrate CylancePROTECT technology into LanScope and offer it as an advanced threat module to LanScope customers. The integration will deliver key security event information directly from CylancePROTECT for presentation within the LanScope console. The joint solution will empower organizations to prevent cyber attacks and give never-before-seen visibility into what applications and potentially unwanted programs are residing on their endpoints.
“We are privileged to be working with MOTEX to equip their thousands of customers with advanced threat prevention capabilities that work without requiring a complex incident response process,” said Stuart McClure, president and CEO at Cylance. “Cylance believes that best-in-class tools must integrate in order to provide the most effective preventive approach to information security possible. Companies in Japan will now have a best-in-class product to protect their organizations.”
“MOTEX would like to express sincere congratulations to Cylance on its entry into the Japanese market,” said Tatsuya Gonokuchi, President of MOTEX Inc. “It is now a well-known fact that that we cannot completely protect our assets from cybersecurity risk by using traditional solutions. In today’s threat environment, the next-generation product developed by Cylance can help usher in a new age in external threat protection for Japanese enterprises. By integrating with LanScope Cat, which we are proud to note maintains number-one market share in Japan, CylancePROTECT Cat will ensure genuine endpoint protection against both internal and external threats. As always, MOTEX will provide complete support for our customers’ information loss prevention with Cylance as we move into the future.”
Cylance will be present at the 25th Japan IT Week (the 13th Information Security EXPO Spring) from May 11th– 13th in the MOTEX booth. The company will offer demonstrations throughout each day of the expo, as well as press briefings by appointment.
At the core of Cylance’s unprecedented malware identification capability is a revolutionary machine-learning research platform that harnesses the power of algorithmic science and artificial intelligence. It analyzes and classifies hundreds of thousands of characteristics per file, breaking them down to study their “DNA” in order to discern whether an object is “good” or “bad” in real time.

About Cylance® Inc.
Cylance is the only company to offer a preventive cybersecurity solution that stops advanced threats and malware at the most vulnerable point: the endpoint.
