IRVINE, CALIFORNIA, October 6, 2016 - Cylance®, the company that is revolutionizing cybersecurity with products and services that use artificial intelligence to proactively prevent, rather than just reactively detect advanced persistent threats and malware, was named the winner of Security Current’s Security Shark Tank® Chicago competition by a panel of chief information security officers (CISOs).
"We're thrilled to be recognized by chief information security officers and other security executives," said Stuart McClure, president and CEO at Cylance. "The Security Shark Tank competition was a great opportunity for us to share our company vision and demonstrate how our industry-leading solution leverages artificial intelligence to prevent malware and advanced attacks from executing on the endpoint."
The event was hosted by GE Capital Director of Information Security Rajesh David. The panel of judges included:
AXA Assistance USA CSO Tellis Williams
Delta Dental Plans Association CISO Fred Kwong
Grubhub Inc. CISO Justinian Fortenberry
Motorola Mobility CISO Richard Rushing
Northern Illinois University CISO Andrew Bjerken
Paylocity CISO Bradley Schaufenbuel
TransUnion CISO Jasper Ossentjuk
TTX Company Director of Enterprise Information Security Steve Hundley
Williams Lea Director of Information Security Scott Tompkins
At the event, participating vendors were each given 15 minutes to present their solutions to a panel of chief information security officers (CISOs). The executives scored each vendor based on the following criteria: innovation and vision, ease of use and implementation and the ability to for the presenter to effectively articulate the value that the solution brings to the enterprise. Cylance earned the highest scores for its innovation, company vision and importance of the business problem its solution solves.
Security Shark Tank host and moderator Rajesh David said, "In an era when the idea of investing in traditional antivirus (AV) or another endpoint solution raises eyebrows, it was very refreshing to see Cylance's approach to next-generation AV powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning," he said. "It is the selection process of vendors like Cylance and the CISO Sharks that sets this event apart. Thanks to Security Current for assembling some great thinkers for an evening of idea sharing at the debut Security Shank Tank in Chicago."
