IRVINE, CALIFORNIA, November 2, 2016 - Cylance® Inc, the company that is revolutionizing cybersecurity through the use of artificial intelligence to proactively prevent advanced persistent threats and malware, today announces that its Chief Data Scientist, Matt Wolff, will moderate a panel at AI World Conference & Expo on how artificial intelligence and machine learning can increase corporate security. The panel will take place on November 8 from 3:00 PM - 3:45 PM at the Parc Hotel in San Francisco.
Matt Wolff is a computer scientist with a research focus on the areas of data science, machine learning, and information security. He leads the research and engineering efforts for Cylance's artificial intelligence technologies to improve the security of computing systems. A 10-year veteran of the fields of AI and security, Wolff was awarded a fellowship from the U.S. Department of Defense to research the capabilities of machine learning and its impact in the security domain.
Joining Wolff on the panel are Tom Baltis, vice president and CISO at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan; Michael Dierickx, information security officer at Panasonic; and David Konetski, Dell Fellow and executive director at Dell. This impressive panel of experts will discuss the increase in both volume and complexity in cyberattacks against organizations. In addition, enterprise architectures are changing rapidly, which provide a constant challenge for IT and security teams to keep up with and defend appropriately. To keep up with these attacks, many organizations have tried to hire trained security and infrastructure experts, but experienced experts are in short supply.
The panel will discuss ideas on how artificial intelligence and machine learning can help resource-strapped IT and security teams fight against cyberattacks and defend their corporate data and infrastructure. To discern just how machine learning can assist the enterprise, the panel will discuss a variety of approaches that are predictive and real-time and can stop attacks even before they begin, rather than reacting to them after the fact. Recovering from attacks is incredibly difficult for most organizations, as the loss of brand reputation and customer trust is enough to cripple a company. A proactive approach, whenever possible, is recommended by security professionals and this panel will offer some tactics and strategies of proactively protecting organizations from attack, with the help of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
"The discussion Matt will be moderating will be a crucial one for organizations across all industries to learn from," said Stuart McClure, CEO and president of Cylance "The combination of machine learning and human expertise can be a powerful defensive weapon against malicious attackers and malware. We’re excited that a panel with such expertise will be talking through tactics and case studies for using artificial intelligence and machine learning in the enterprise."
