Miller and his team of security experts will answer questions about Cylance and its technology on Jan. 27

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA, January 25, 2017 - Cylance® Inc., the company revolutionizing cybersecurity with the practical application of artificial intelligence to prevent the most advanced cyberthreats, today announced that its Chief Research Officer, Jon Miller, will lead a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Friday, January 27. Starting at 10:00 AM PST, Miller and his team of technical experts will be answering any questions about Cylance technology.

A Reddit AMA is a text-based question-and-answer session between a well-known person and the world. As the title, "Ask Me Anything," suggests, conversations are free and open and intended to encourage a frank exchange between attendees and the subject of the AMA. Historically, AMA subjects who have not been fully transparent with their audiences have been subject to negative community response. Conversely, AMA subjects including Neil deGrasse Tyson, Bill Gates, and Snoop Dogg have enjoyed tremendous success by being open with the Reddit community.

"Whenever I attend a security event or just talk with a group of people from the field, it becomes clear that there's both curiosity and confusion about just what Cylance technology does," Miller said. "Reddit is a great community and this AMA is a good opportunity to answer questions about what we do at Cylance, and about anything else community members may want to ask."

Cylance machine learning has reinvented endpoint protection by proactively stopping malware before it can execute on an endpoint. Legacy antivirus can’t recognize or block the newest forms of malware, such as those found in zero-day attacks, so information security teams have been forced to add layers of additional endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools. All of these approaches are reactive, enabling security teams to take action only after malware has begun executing.

To help drive the conversation and learn more about the future of security, follow @CylanceInc on Twitter, where a link to the Reddit AMA will be posted just before the session begins.
