Ryan PermehFounder and CTO
Our industry has been built largely on the past, using antiquated solutions for increasingly complex problems. A new method needs to be formed, a scientific method. We are building a mathematical and algorithmic approach to security to protect and empower our customers to stay ahead of the most advanced threats in the world today - by looking ahead, not behind.
Ryan is THE brain behind the architecture of a new approach to security. He leads the research and threat intelligence teams digging into the hacker mindset. Prior to co-founding Cylance, Ryan was the Chief Scientist at McAfee. He worked with the Office of the CTO to envision how to protect against the threats of today and tomorrow. In addition he led innovation efforts through advanced technology exchange with Intel. Along with Stuart McClure, Ryan built TRACE, McAfee's elite security research team.
Ryan has over 15 years of experience in vulnerability research, reverse engineering, and exploitation. Ryan frequently speaks at well-known security and technology conferences on advanced security topics, published many blogs and articles and contributed to a litany of books on the subject.Connect with Ryan Permeh:

Although I had the pleasure of working with, and overseeing some great consumer brands, it had been some time since I felt that there was a broader good and worthwhile mission in place at my previous companies. It didn't take long to see that there was a definitive vision with Cylance and the team that was being brought together had some of the best pedigree to make that vision happen.
With over 20 years of experience in corporate finance and operations, Jeff Ishmael has been the CFO of Cylance since its inception. Prior to joining the company, Jeff was the CFO and SVP of Operations for DC Shoes North American division (a subsidiary of $2.2 Billion Quiksilver.) During his tenure, Jeff dramatically improved all financial and operational metrics of a market segment valued at $325 million and successfully led the SAP integration team's launch of the brand. Before joining DC, Jeff was the N.A. CFO for MGE UPS System, a company focused on mission-critical infrastructure and subsidiary of the $12b Schneider Electric. At the forefront of a $205m products and services operation, Jeff increased both financial and operational performance beyond expectations.
Jeff received a BS in Business Administration from Pepperdine University and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Orange Country Marathon Foundation and previously sat on the Board of Directors for the Quiksilver Foundation.Connect with Jeff Ishamel:
Every paradigm shift throughout history has begun by asking the same question; "What if there's a better way?" Visionaries searching for the answer have transformed entire countries, political systems and schools of thought by refusing to think inside of the box.

"The time is now to change the paradigm in security. Companies like Cylance know how to solve this problem at its core, and we WILL help them deliver on that vision. "If you can secure the very fabric of our society and economy – critical infrastructure and key resources (CIKR) – you can secure anything. The security industry is ready for an overhaul and Cylance has the vision, strategy and talent to lead the way."
"As a long time driver and investor in security, we've seen visions come and go but Cylance has a truly pioneering plan."
US Central Command
"With Cylance, you have unequaled passion and talent that can change the security landscape. Their deep technical talent and strong executive leadership will ensure their success."
"The rules have changed. Following checklists, running AV, having a firewall and many of the other "standard defenses" are not enough anymore. The new world of security is defined by adversaries, not auditors. Cylance brings fresh thinking and innovative technology for cyber-success."
The investors in Cylance are highly successful in identifying industry changing organizations and technologies. Their investment is not just financial, it is experience. Cylance has the successful combination of people, process and technology to be a leader in the new era of security.
